The Counseling Center provides counseling services, educational workshops, therapeutic workshops, and self-help groups. The Counseling Center is located at 110 Student Services Building (phone: 333-3704).
The Daily Illini (DI) is an independent, student-run newspaper. It covers campus news, local events, and Illini sports, as well as national and international news highlights. The DI is delivered to hundreds of locations on and near campus Monday through Friday mornings, including the College of Business.
The Office of the Dean of Students promotes the success of undergraduate, graduate, and professional students by providing advocacy programs, counseling, guidance, orientation, and support. The University of Illinois operates two residence hall facilities for graduate students: Daniels Hall and Sherman Hall. Each is located within walking distance from most campus buildings, and food service is available. The University also operates apartments for student families. The Tenant Union is a service and advocacy organization that provides information on local landlord reputations, lease review, and apartment inventory forms to help protect against unfair deposit deductions. International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) provides services that promote and enhance successful educational and cultural experiences for international students. ISSS assists students and staff through individual counseling and advising, workshops, and practical training. ISSS serves as an advocate for international students at the governmental level. International students should visit ISSS before leaving the country on trips. ISSS is located at 400 Student Services Building, 610 East Daniel Street (phone: 333-1303).
The University of Illinois Library is the third largest academic library in the United States. The library's holdings are physically housed in more than 40 departmental libraries and special collections located throughout campus. The Business and Economics Library is located in 101 Library.
McKinley Health Center provides medical care for illness, injury, or other health problems; immunizations; physical examinations; gynecological services; health education services; and mental health services. It houses a pharmacy, a laboratory, and a radiology department. All students who pay tuition and fees are eligible to use McKinley, but their family members are not eligible. The McKinley Health Center is located at 1109 South Lincoln Avenue (phone: 333-2700). Hours are Monday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. DIAL-A-NURSE (phone: 333-2700) is on telephone duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to answer questions about illness, injuries, or other health concerns.
The Office of Minority Student Affairs (OMSA) provides personal and career advising, academic counseling, study skills instruction, workshops and enrichment activities, and outreach services to minority students. OMSA is located in the Student Services Building at 610 East John Street (phone: 333-0054).
Students who wish to park a car or motorcyle in a university parking lot must purchase a permit from Facilities and Services Parking Department. The Parking Department is located at 1110 West Springfield (phone: 333-3530). All students with an I-card have unlimited free use of special campus bus routes (shuttle or campus buses) and all existing Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District (MTD) bus routes (phone: 384-8188).
Student Legal Service informs students of practical aspects of the law as applied to their individual problem. In-court representation is available in many cases from one of the three full-time lawyers. Students must go to the office in person with their I-card to make an appointment.
