The Academic Council is an elected group of students whose mission is to serve as a liaison among students, faculty, and administration with the goal of continuous improvement in the Illinois MBA and to encourage a sense of community.
To achieve this, the members of Academic Council communicate and coordinate the exchange of information among students, faculty, and staff regarding the delivery of the first year of the program. It focuses on the academic content, student services response, and career services issues. Activities include meetings with faculty and staff, regular feedback reports to the sections, and planning social events. The time commitment is typically a few hours a week.
