As the top sales representative in Taiwan’s first system integration company, Mei-Ling (Nikita) Tsai was elected the most outstanding sales personnel for three consecutive years. Sensing the lack of globalization in the market of her native home of Taiwan, Nikita decided to pursue her MBA at the University of Illinois with the goal of establishing her own consulting group to assist businesses in Asia with ambitions in global marketing.

While pursuing a degree in International Trade with a minor in Japanese in undergraduate school, Nikita got a taste of global trade and economic systems through her involvement with AIESEC, a work abroad exchange program that sends students to foreign countries so that they may gain practical work experience. Through this program, Nikita was exposed to development of business globalization without national boundaries. 

After graduation, Nikita gained a vast amount of work experience through different companies.  As the Major Account CSR for TNT Express Worldwide, not only was Nikita elected Asia Pacific’s Best Customer Service Representative, but she raised her company’s recognition in Taiwan through her proposal to build strategic alliance with Hsin-Chu Transportations to offer express service to Europe. As a result, TNT’s market share in Taiwan grew from 17% in 1996 to 24% in 1997.

As the Special Staff in the Business Department of Finance Service and Internet Business Group of Systex Corp, Nikita led the sales team that obtained the sole contract of Morgan Stanley in the global market for handling exchange, financial account, and a real-time risk control system.

Even with all the professional knowledge Nikita has gained from her work experience, the Illinois MBA is extending her expertise in sales and management while training her with the foundation and strategic planning skills she needs to become a prominent leader in the global business arena, enabling her to accomplish her ultimate goal of bettering the quality of life for the people of Taiwan.
