Program Requirements

The curriculum is designed to prepare our graduates for the competitive global workplace. It is a unique blend of classroom discussion and case studies as well as real-world projects and simulations. The first-year curriculum combines essential business education themes to give students the necessary foundation to tackle more complex business challenges. Throughout the first semester, key business leaders present enrichment topics to our students. The second year consists of electives that will provide specialized courses for each student's specific career focus. At the end of the second year and a minimum of 72 credit hours, our graduates are prepared to enter the marketplace.

FIRST YEAR (40 hours)

First Semester (20 hours)
MBA 501:  Foundations of Business I (First 8 weeks) 10 hours
Marketing, Economics, Accounting, Data Analysis,
and Professional Communication.

MBA 502:  Foundations of Business II (Second 8 weeks) 10 hours
Marketing, Accounting, Organizational Theory & Design, Manufacturing & Service Processes, and Professional Communication.

MBA 500:  Issues in Business                               0 hours
Business Computing, Career Services, and Conversations with Leaders.

Second Semester (20 hours)
MBA 503:  Principals and Processes of Management I 6 hours
(First 8 weeks)
Past themes have included Management of Technology, Managing People & Organizations, and Strategy

MBA 505:  Topics in Management (First 8 weeks) 2 hours
MBA 505:  Topics in Management (First 8 weeks) 2 hours
Past MBA 505 options include Financial Management I, Project Management, Entrepreneurship, Sustainable Marketing Enterprises, Strategic Thinking, and Study Abroad (course completed during winter break)

MBA 504:  Principals and Processes of Management II 6 hours
(Second 8 weeks)
Past themes have included Leadership, Ethics & Change, Decision Risk Analysis, and Global Strategy

MBA 505:  Topics in Management (Second 8 weeks) 2 hours
MBA 505:  Topics in Management (Second 8 weeks) 2 hours
MBA 505 options have included Financial Management II, Operation Analysis, Negotiations, Creating the Global Economy, and IT & E-business
Strategy



Summer Internship – It is expected that all MBA students will participate in a summer internship.  Visit MBA Career Services for internship information.

SECOND YEAR (32 hours)

Students must complete at least 32 MBA hours during the second year. It is required that students pursue at least one concentration. Of the 32 hours required in the second year, 16 hours must be completed in the designated concentration. If a student chooses to pursue two concentrations, the student must fulfill 16 hours in each concentration.

It is required that MBA students take at least 12 hours per semester.
