It is the expected that all MBA students will participate in a summer internship. The internship is an essential piece of the job search process as more and more companies are identifying full-time candidates through their summer internship programs. Illinois MBA Career Services assists in this search and connects students to resources around the globe. In some instances, students have been able to continue their internship on a part-time basis, even after returning to complete their studies.

ILLINOIS BUSINESS CONSULTING
An integral component of the College of Business and the Illinois MBA, Illinois Business Consulting (IBC) is a student consulting organization made up of students from many different University of Illinois colleges. IBC is an essential opportunity for those MBAs who wish to pursue consulting careers or who want to enhance their analytical skills for their chosen industry.

ACADEMY FOR ENTREPRENEURIAL LEADERSHIP

The Academy for Entrepreneurial Leadership offers entrepreneurship programs, services, and resources. MBA students take part in such programs as Idea Bounce and Innovation Teams. Such experience can demonstrate creative thinking and innovation to potential employers.

JOB SHADOW OPPORTUNITIES

Job shadowing is an excellent way to network as you spend the day with an employer and learn about specific careers at that company. Opportunities are usually offered during winter break and spring break. Join companies such as General Electric and Walgreens and learn more about the endless opportunities that await you following completion of the Illinois MBA.
