Second-Year Scholarships

Merit Scholarships

The Illinois MBA awards a limited number of tuition scholarships to second-year MBA students who have achieved academic excellence and have contributed significantly to the program. To be eligible to apply, second-year MBA students must:

  • maintain full-time MBA registration and pay MBA tuition. Students who are receiving a tuition waiver (veteran, fellowship, assistantship, etc.)  or assistance from other sources (company or organizational sponsorship) are not eligible.
  • achieve a cumulative 3.4 grade point average or higher at the end of the first year of study (10 units of MBA core).
  • demonstrate significant contributions made to the MBA program.

Donor Scholarships

Second-year MBA students are eligible to apply for the following awards:

  • The Kent Monroe scholarship which awards $2,500 to one MBA student who has clearly demonstrated outstanding academic performance and leadership.
  • The Richard A. Erley scholarship, which awards up to $5,000 to a student who has demonstrated outstanding academic performance and leadership in their first year of MBA studies.
  • The Tazlitz Family Graduate Student Award, which awards $5,000 to two MBA students, is based upon outstanding academic performance and leadership.

College of Business/IVG Benefit Partnership Program

The College of Business/IVG Benefit Partnership Program offers financial aid to returning military veterans who meet the eligibility guidelines.

Military Veteran Scholarships

Veteran Scholarships are for individuals who are veterans, spouses of a veteran, or are the dependent of a veteran. Your local Department of Veterans Office is the best source of information. An applicant can also contact the Office of Veterans Affairs at the University of Illinois by calling (217) 333-0100 or (217) 333-9283.

Minority Student Scholarships

The Toigo Fellowship is a great opportunity for U.S. minority MBA applicants and current students who are interested in and committed to working in finance. The scholarship is primarily offered to MBA applicants, but the website indicates the possibility of assisting second-year students as well. You may begin your application for the Toigo Fellowship at the following address: http://www.toigofoundation.org/toigofoundation/Content/FellowShip/ApplicationProcess.htm.
